The journalism internship is an unique opportunity to work for one of the world's top news organisations, gaining invaluable experience across the Editorial desks. The selected interns will spend the duration of the internship on rotation around a number of desks. For example, this may include FT Weekend, How to Spend It, Beyondbrics and World News.

Telesales Intern Ref: FT02

Location: London

Responsibilities

The B2B team within the FT is a high growth division. The team develops direct relationships with institutions around the globe with a view to licensing their employees for access to FT content. The team is focused on ensuring clients gain maximum value from their subscriptions through driving engagement at reader level. The selected intern will be responsible for helping to increase business sales by following up on marketing campaigns to identify prospects, (which will feed the sales pipeline); and contacting regular users of FT content to explain the benefits of wider team licences or an institutional licence.

Required skills, attributes and qualifications:

  • A minimum 2:1 degree classification
  • Tenacity
  • Strong communication skills (preferably bilingual within the Eurozone)
  • Aptitude for and interest in Sales and sales techniques
  • Ability to work well in a team
  • Commercial awareness

Data Intelligence Intern Ref: FT03

Location: London

Responsibilities

B2B within the FT is growing very quickly and has more sophisticated data demands. Data Intelligence in particular works towards investigating strategic business questions and communicating the answers in creative answers. The Customer Analytics & Research team is a diverse group of problem-solvers with backgrounds in statistics, economics, marketing, sales, research and analysis. The team is looking for an intern with a special set of skills to assess better ways of communicating our data to internal and external stakeholders; to apply creative and business thinking to a re-design or client-facing data.

Required skills, attributes and qualifications:

  • Creativity and entrepreneurial skills
  • Passion for data
  • Experience working with data visualisation or information design

Origami Developer Intern Ref: FT04

Location: Hammersmith, London

Responsibilities

FT Technology operates the technology systems that run the Financial Times. Origami is the component system by which we are building a new responsive web platform for the FT. The selected intern would be responsible for auditing components, finding and correcting problems and provide support to other developers within the business who want to make use of Origami components. Operations Intern Ref: FT 05

Location: London

Responsibilities

The aim of the Technology team at the FT is to provide world leading platforms to power world leading content. Opportunities for accessing FT content are growing fast and the team is continuously looking for innovative people to join the team. The selected intern will work across numerous teams to assist with data analysis and research, updating project timelines and product flow diagrams and assisting with rollouts and solution implementation.

Learning and Development Coordinator Intern Ref: FT06

Location: London

Responsibilities

The global Learning and Development team at the FT supports employees across the business in developing their capability across five strategic pillars; Leadership, Digital, Change, Working Excellence and Talent. The team recently launched Digital Campus, a people solution aimed at up-skilling FT employees as they move to more digital focussed roles and to accelerate the FT's digital first strategy. The selected intern will join the project group and be responsible for managing and implementing a global schedule, scoping, designing and implementing one in-house solution and reviewing L&D operations.
