Pearson Internship Programme (PIP UK)

What is PIP UK?

The Pearson Internship Programme (formerly known as the Pearson Diversity Summer Internship Programme) is still a positive action programme for UK graduates from visible ethnic minority backgrounds. The programme was set up in response to the 2003 Dip Net report and Pearson's own demographic data, which showed an under representation of racial and ethnic diversity within our U.K. businesses. PDSIP was the first internship of its kind and is one of the initiatives we run to address this issue under The Equality Act 2010 (UK).

What's the aim of the programme?

To evolve as a business, we need to attract talented and bright individuals who share our ethos of 'Always Learning'. The aim of the programme is to bring that talent into the business and where possible, retain it.

When does it take place?

PIP UK will run from 30th September 2013 to 20th December 2013.

What does it involve?

The new programme offers a paid, 3 month placement in one part of the Pearson businesses; including Pearson Education, Pearson VUE and the Financial Times. Selected interns will be asked to work on a specific project within a specific business area. Interns will also participate in workshops which provide personal and professional development training.

But our relationship with you doesn't end after the internship. We think it's important to stay connected. That's why we're launching the PIP UK Alumni Group; a network for former interns to keep abreast of developments within the organisation and maintain the relationships built over the course of the internship.
